A large government health agency was preparing to implement a wide-ranging, multi-stage electronic medical record program.
Smartnet was engaged to develop a privacy framework and associated tools for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, as well as a suite of privacy impact assessments of specific initiatives, and advice on risk identification/mitigation, stakeholder consultation, business case development and legislative reform.
Over a period of time a skills transfer program was implemented to build organisational capacity in privacy compliance and with subject matter experts, including privacy contact officers and a series of check-point reviews were conducted before the roll-out of specific initiatives.
